Summary from Goodreads:

Sloane isn’t expecting to fall in with a group of friends when she moves from New York to Florida—especially not a group of friends so intense, so in love, so all-consuming. Yet that’s exactly what happens.

Sloane becomes closest to Vera, a social-media star who lights up any room, and Gabe, Vera’s twin brother and the most serious person Sloane’s ever met. When a beloved painting by the twins’ late mother goes missing, Sloane takes on the responsibility of tracking it down, a journey that takes her across state lines—and ever deeper into the twins’ lives.

Filled with intense and important friendships, a wonderful warts-and-all family, shiveringly good romantic developments, and sharp, witty dialogue, this story is about finding the people you never knew you needed

My Thoughts!

Emma Mills never seems to disappoint me. She creates an endearing story with a great cast of characters that will be hard to forget. Overall I really enjoyed this book as it perfectly captured the essence of high school and the complexity of different types of relationships. Although, it’s not my favorite Emma Mills’ books but it’s still among my favorite books.

I enjoyed Emma’s first novel First and Then, and I was thrilled to find out she had more novels. I still can’t get over how gorgeous the naked hardcover is.  If you love a really REALLY slow burn romance on the side, this book is for you.

Sloane Finch (our narrator), is highly relatble, she’s witty, sarcastic and adorable. She gets thrust into a high tight close group of friends when she goes at a bully. Oh and the adventure isn’t quite the adventure you are expecting? As it was strange but fun.

One issue I did have with this book was well as it tried to focus on too much with such a small amount of time. Like things would happen and they wouldn’t be expanded on, or fights would break out and the things said didn’t seem to shake the characters.

OH AND THE FATHER AND DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP WAS ADORABLE!

AND THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NO GIRL HATE!
